MUSIC TEACHER LESSON

TO CONSIDER:

Do you know that you will NOT obey anyone you do not trust?

So reason would tell us, that TRUST is the first step toward OBEDIENCE.

Yet, I will also tell you a mystery:
OBEDIENCE also brings you into TRUST.

When you, as a believer, make the decision to OBEY the Spirit of Christ within you, even if with fear and trembling due to a lack of confident trust, YOU WILL SOON LEARN THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD. You'll begin to realize that God has the ABILITY and the INTEGRITY to "fulfill" His Word, His Promises, and His Spirit's Leading in your heart. HE is TrustWORTHY.

SOON obedience transforms your life so that FAITH (TRUST) instead of FEAR begins to dominate your mind and decision-making process. A "history in God" becomes a reality for you, and an INNER STRENGTHENING takes place as TRUST GROWS decision by decision through obedience.

BECOME AWARE and ALERT:

Please LOOK WITHIN your heart and give consideration of how much TRUST you have in God. How much OBEDIENCE are you walking in?
Are you even AWARE?
How ALERT are you?
Do you walk more often in FEAR than in TRUST?
Do you walk more often in CARELESS ways, or in CAREFUL choices of obedience and sensivity to the Spirit of God within you?

Do you even want to pause and give it some thought? (this answer may actually be your best spiritual indicator)

I exhort you (in all humility, for I'm attempting to do this myself)... GIVE THOUGHT to how you are RESPONDING to the Spirit of God within you. (I'm talking to born-again believers indwelt by the Spirit of Christ.)

The Devil would have you REMAIN ASLEEP spiritually.
BUT GOD desires for you TO AWAKEN.


I desire you to BECOME AWARE that you have the opportunity DAILY...MOMENT BY MOMENT...to make THE DECISION to FOLLOW the will of God in Christ...through trust and obedience.

We have so much to gain... in terms of peace, joy, and righteousness (the Kingdom of God). We have so much to gain in terms of relationship with our Lord. We have so much to gain as far as the blessings that our ours IN HIM. So much to gain as far as relationships with others.

You see, WE GROW IN RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS...AS WE TRUST GOD. The fear you may have of trusting a person is OVERCOME by TRUSTING YOUR GOD. For you can then conclude that NO MATTER HOW A PERSON RESPONDS OR DOESN"T RESPOND to you, it need not toss you or your emotions or lifestyle around like a wave, to and fro...for you are secure in the love and faithfulness of the Lord.

CONSIDER THIS SCRIPTURE:
Ps 146:3-10
3 Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day ehis plans perish. 5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever,7 Who executes justice for the oppressed,
Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. 10 The Lord shall reign forever— Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!


TRUST AND OBEDIENCE BRINGS REST:

You can enter A REST within from Trust and Obeying. Peace of your heart. That is why I'm sharing this as we go into a brand new year.

Consider this passage in Hebrews 3:18-4:2

18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. 4:1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith (TRUST) in those who heard it.

THE SPIRIT is your helper to lead you into TRUST and OBEDIENCE. We can't do this on our own, friends. It is A PROCESS of the Spirit within, and our yielding to conscience, or growing sensitivity to the still small voice we hear leading us in our decision making. BE CONFIDENT in his faithfulness to lead. Once God gave me revelation that "IT IS THE SHEPHERD'S JOB TO LEAD--MY RESPONSIBILITY IS JUST TO STAY CLOSE AND FOLLOW."

If the Spirit of God isn't leading you...don't lead Him.
Don't busy yourself in religious activity to show God your love. NO!!! Just become aware of when you are being PROMPTED to TRUST AND OBEY by the Spirit within you. HE will build relationship with you... God wants it more than you do! He enjoys relationship with you!

TO CLOSE, HERE ARE SOME OTHER VERSES THAT MAY INSPIRE YOU TO TRUST AND OBEY:

Prov 3:5,6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 11:28
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like foliage.

James 2:14-18
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Ps 21:7
For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved

Ps 32:10
But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him

Prov 16:20
He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he

Prov 28:25
He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered

Prov 29:25
The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe

Jer 17:7
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord.


Rom 6:16
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness.
